One of the big reasons why medicine is expensive in the US is due to the American Medical Association (AMA). This is a very powerful lobby made of doctors and prevents new medical colleges from being opened in the US, officially because the quality of the doctors must be preserved. Actually, it is to keep the salary of the doctors high. This AMA is extremely powerful and is partly responsible for the mess of the medical system in the US.

I had surgery in Burumgrad hospital. I was very pleased w/ the result of my surgery. Some comments are: 1.You should be prepared & ask about the extra costs that are not included in the estimates of the surgery. The cost of my surgery is Thb29,000 but I paid extra Thb20,000 for other misc.items(hidden charges) 2. Plan your surgeries ahead co’z you only have 1 month w/o visa & 7 days ext. only.I feel it’s not worthy for me to pay $300 extra just to change my flight for a 7 days extension.
