Look at where demand comes from.
Domestic demand comes from growing middle class, which now can afford travel in their own country and to abroad, e.g., the huge number of Chinese tourists.
International demand from the West and Japan comes from the baby boomer generation (which now is retiring and has money and time) and from their children (which has plenty of money due to the high real estate values).
