I have an associates degree in Travel & Tourism, or hospitality mgmt, and am preparing to return to school to?

June 62010

earn a bachelors. Only i am having some difficulty in choosing a major. I have experience in managment and am very good at office activities, business managing, etc. I am also intereseted in psychology & would love to find a fit where I could combine the idea of psych and travel. I am 34, a single mother and self-motivated……sometimes, lol. Any ideas, world?

I don’t know if this works, but hospitality sales and catering allows you to make good money, use your psch skills to work with people, and travel.

Check out www.aprinda.com for some information. I love hospitality sales and catering….they are the best part of working in hotels.

Bali is an Indonesian island located at the westernmost of the Lesser Sunda Islands, lying between Java to the west and Lombok to the east. It is one of the country’s 33 provinces with the provincial capital at Denpasar towards the south of the island.

With a population recorded as 3,151,000 in 2005, the island is home to the vast majority of Indonesia’s small Hindu minority. 93.18% of Bali’s population adheres to Balinese Hinduism, while most of the remainder follows Islam. Travel Arizona – It’s A State Of Mind

May 142010

Arizona was never a state with too terribly much to recommend it, tourism-wise. But their image to many as a collection of holes in the desert surrounded by rednecks and party schools hasn’t been helped by recent events. Lawmaking advertising the state to be at least 51% a-hole has many in the country scrambling to boycott a state it was always kind of easy to forget about in the first place.

And as repellent as the new laws are, we must at some point recognize the true victims here–the hardworking folks at the Arizona Tourism Office. They’ve been putting lipstick on that pig for a long time now, this recent crap must have them rushing to send out resumes to more desirable tourist destinations. Like say, Jersey.

Good luck, guys.

Question about Travel and tourism Jobs and tattoos?

May 62010

Okay, i have a big tattoo on my stomach (that doesnt really count as it can be covered up easily) and i also have birds on my wrist, which lead up to just below wear my thumb connects to my hand. when i get a job, will it affect it, because i wanted to train to be an air studdess but i might not be able to do that now as i have a visible tattoo. When i start work, i hope to start in a travel agency so will i be declined as i have visible tattoos?
Also, can someone who perhaps works for the travel and tourism industry help me with my dilema and tell me which jobs i would be allowed to do
Thanks

I work as a tour guide in a castle. I have lots of tattoos (my arms and legs are covered) and I have never had a problem at work, but I always wear long sleeves so the public can not see them. The other staff know I have tattoos but are fine with them as long as the public do not see. I am allowed to have my tattoos on show when I am doing paperwork in the back room or cleaning the castle each morning before we open for the day.
I think most employers are fine with tattoos as long as you can conceal them with clothing and/or make-up.
