Legitimate CANADIAN work from home jobs…in tourism, office, freelancing…do they even exist?

I’m always directed to companies in the US. Being Canadian, that does no good to me. I want to work for a reputable company and not have to pay any "start up fees" or "introductory fees". Also, no pyramid schemes.

I’ve heard of call centres looking for people to take calls away from the call centres and route them to their homes. Something like that would be fine.

Look into being a liveoperator from a virtual call center.
Depending upon your exp you can make some half decent money even if you have no experience it’s easy to learn and they definitely won’t ask you for money to join them..,…

Turned down once for job, but still want to work for company?

I applied for an events coordinator position with the tourism office in my city and made it to the second round of interviews. I was not offered the position, but that did not turn me off of still wanting to work within the company. They just posted another position that I feel like I would like to do. How should I address the situation in my cover letter. Should I just apply and not make a mention of it or should I address it like I was disappointed but not deterred from seeking a position within the company.

This is kind of tough because while it may seem better to not mention it at all and see how far you get into the second round, making a note of it might actually make you seem persistent and genuinely interested in the company. I think I would address it as the latter if I were you. It takes some courage and would be a feat to take a chance like that, regardless of whether you get the position, but an even bigger accomplishment if you do get it.

It is disappointing that whenever a person asks a question on yahoo answers about tours in Vietnam, the travel agencies themselves reply enmasse and only post links to their own sites without giving you the answers you seek.

I first went to VN about 5 years ago. I did a heck of a lot of researching on the net to find a tour company that offered… good price, good service, not rushed and held a good reputation.

I recall I came down to about 3 different companies to choose from. Ultimately, I chose Intrepid Tours.

Now after having revisited VN many times, and now traveling independently (and more recently invested in the country), I can say with qualification that if you travel independently, it is by far cheaper and not rushed. Not withstanding that, I found Intrepid FANTASTIC. !!

I am not a person for whistle stop tours nor do I go for the "commercial" attitude of get em in, get their money and get em out.

I truly appreciated the personal touch that Intrepid gave.

I would emphasize that traveling independently is by far cheaper… maybe as much as less than a 1/3 of the cost, but for my first time in VN back then, I would not have been able to do it.

Bottom line is that having traveled with them and being frugal, I would highly recommend them.

I like their catch phrase… leave only foot prints.

If you want to do spot tours upon arrival, in HCMC, their is a travel agent next door to the Luna Hotel on Pham Ngu Lao street. Very helpful English speaking honest people. I booked buses and the likes with them after shopping around and found their service the best.
