Currently, what do you think is the best Philippine Tourism Website out there and why?

If you believe that all the current ones are not that good what do you suggest should be done & how can people (especially Filipinos) be proactive in promoting & helping out?

The http://www.tourism.gov.ph/ is good; but, the Tourism Department can do better by updating it quarterly or biannually.

Other good tourism sites are the Philippines’ provincial and city websites where each province, town or city feature their main tourist attractions.

There are also websites created by volunteers who promote their locality’s main and not so popular attractions.

Still, the most effective way to promote our country is by word of mouth; and, how we conduct ourselves, as Filipinos, at home and in other countries.

I am writing a dissertation about the perceptions of tourists about Russia as a tourist destination. So your answers are highly valuable to me! Thanks in advance!

Russia is a VERY big and a VERY diverse place. General perceptions is still of a grey and (today) rather crime swept urban environmnet and also the bnotion of 1000s of miles of empty frozen tundra. Both can be true but Russia can be anything depending where you are.
This question is unanswerable. Why don’t you try looking up ordinary visitors and traveller’s blogs and travelogue on the web – there are lots and easily found with a few well chosen keywords. This will give you a far better idea from the biased tour guides or the rubbish spouted by people who have never been. You will also get a better idea than from those who have visited Russia on package tours.

Or of course you could go yourself one day and be surprised.

I have friends supposed to leave the Philippines but unfortunately didn’t manage to leave at the same day because of incomplete documents to travel. They are advised to go to Philippine tourism office in Manila for refund but unfortunately they are asked to provide those papers they have listed and they managed to provide all and they took a week to completed those papers they need. They are advice again to report other week but till now no news when they could refund their money.Anyone could advice when or approx how many months or weeks to get the refund?

Go directly to the higher officials and make sure you keep those receipts.

well, i dont know what those degrees are exactly, but i do know that with a tourism and travel degree you could be a travel agent. if you wanted to do something to help your government you could work with a team to improve the tourism in an area. this would raise the economy in an area making life easier for those who live there. if you do not like either of these go to the place where you got these and ask them what they think that you would be qualified for.

tourism is a question of preferences, tourists income, promotion, alternatives (or substitutes). All these factors are changing all the time. So over some period of time there could be some stability – but there is no any warranty over the long-term.

tourism has been declared as an industry in many countries of the world and it is an important pillar of economy in many countries like Switzerland, France, Turkey, Austria, Maldives etc. Pakistan has got every thing that can attract millions of tourists around the world. Unfortunately, we are not receiving considerable number of visitors since we have not marketed the image of Pakistan as one of the best tourist resort on the earth..

Well, there are far too many negative points to make Pakistan popular – sorry!

- religion and difficulties for women to move around
- restrictions in clothing and eating as well as drinking alcohol
- safety issues

And nobody knows any "plus" until now – what is there to be done or seen?

And what’s the aim? To have independent tourim resorts at the beach like anywhere in the world – where the tourists do not even realize where they except on the 1 or 2 days the book a trip into the country? Or to have rather rich persons travelling around looking at special buildings and getting to know the culture?

Perhaps you can get in contact with an international travel agency and discuss options and opportunities. Without complete offers, no tourists would come on their own.

Why don’t you study the situation in the South of Turkey or on the island of Sri Lanka? Perhaps these examples could give you some input.

I am planning on starting a career in travel or tourism in Ireland and I would like to know what would be better? CMIT offers a Distance Learning Diploma in International Travel studies whereas Portobello School offers full-time and part-time courses including Travel and tourism.
