Pembrokeshire Greenways is an initiative which has been working for over 10 years to encourage local residents and visitors, of all abilities, to access the coast and countryside by sustainable modes of transport through walking, cycling, bus and train travel.
‘Greenways’ was the first project of its kind to be developed in Wales and was established in 1994 as a Countryside Council for Wales pilot project in South Pembrokeshire, under the management of SPARC (now PLANED).an EU-funded Leader Plus initiative (PLANED – formerly SPARC).
Due to the success of this pilot scheme the Greenways Project was extended to cover the whole of Pembrokeshire in 2000, under the management of the Greenways Partnership.
Greenways partners include the following organisations:
Countryside Council for Wales, National Trust, Pembrokeshire Access Group, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, Pembrokeshire County Council, Pembrokeshire Local Health Board and PLANED.

type of products activities they offer?
Sustainable tourism is based on the principles of a sustainable development in general. In the case of specialised tour operators it concerns three main areas:
- Sustainable management at home level: managing the office sustainably, using printing materials as little as possible or offsetting CO2 emissions are examples of this;
- On destination level: the services offered should be as sustainable as possible and on this basis tour operators should select their services. In this respect there seems to exist a widespread agreement that just labelling services as being sustainably sound is not enough and may even turn away potential tourists; a type of choice editing towards the tourist seems to be more suitable. Specialised tour operators have the advantage of their in-depth knowledge of specific services offered;
- On tourists’ level: tourists should be made aware of sustainability issues and foot prints they may leave; there is no sustainable tourism without “sustainable” tourists and the tour operator should play an important role to achieve this goal – little tangible as it may seem at times. The use of social media may be important and again this may be to the advantage of the smaller specialised tour operators.

Hi, I’m thinking about taking a travel and tourism course next year in grade 11 – high school. I’m not exactly sure what you learn it though.
In the future I want to study international law. I’m not sure If this will help or not but I wanted to take it because it seems interesting. I just want to know what EXACTLY you learn in the course. ^^
if you want to study international law, really don’t lose your time with the Tourism course. I took it and for my personal experience, you don’t learn that much as you learn working. If you are going to the law branch my recommendation is to focus on that!

Sustainable Tourism is all about the development of tourism activities in a region, a country or a community in ways that affect nature, environment and socio-cultural relations as little as possible so as not to jeopardize these relationships for future generations.

Basically, in the future I wanna be a travel and tourism teacher. How do I do this.. do I have to do a degree in travel and tourism? then what do I do after?
Obtain a certificate in travel and tourism. This can be obtained from the continuing education department of a major college or university or via an online program. Courses you might take while obtaining a travel and tourism specialist certificate center on customer service, computerized reservation systems, travel terminology, location-specific travel tips and matching travelers with appropriate travel methods and accommodations.
Gain as much experience as possible in your chosen field. If you’ve opted to open a travel agency down the road, seek positions within the travel industry to gain as much experience as possible. Peruse trade publications for job listings or look on the websites of companies for which you are interested in working to determine whether they are hiring. The more well-rounded you are as a travel and tourism specialist, the more you can offer potential clients or consumers.
Network within the travel industry. As a travel and tourism specialist, the hallmark of your job rests on the connections you make. If you work with a tourism agency, you need constant updates from industry insiders to market tourism in your locale. If you operate a travel agency, then your connections will be what gets your customers custom packages and great deals that keep them returning to your business. Maintain key relationships across the travel industry, from air and cruise line ticketing agents to hotel managers and beyond.
I got this from EHow. I hope this helps!

So make sure you exploit every opportunity to work, even if you don’t get paid! Being a helper at a bungee jumping company or wilderness trekking company (with good references) is vital in a very people orientated business!
